The RH850 is Renesas Electronics’ latest automotive micro-controller family that offers high performance balanced with very low power consumption over a wide and scalable range of products. The RH850 family is offered in a Renesas 40nm process, an industry first, and offers tremendous capability and features as cost-effective pricing. The family offers a range of CPU core structures (single, multiple, lock-step and combination thereof) to support high performance and/or high reliability requirements.
ProMik tools like the MSP family, can use the CSI interface for high speed flashing, in specific cases it is possible to program the memory via the JTAG debug interface, too.
RL78 microcontrollers greatly improve power efficiency with industry-leading low power consumption at 45.5 μA/MHz consumption during normal operation and 0.57 μA/MHz during clock operation.
Built-in features such as a high-precision (±1%) high-speed on-chip oscillator, background operation data flash capable of 1 million rewrites, temperature sensor, and interface ports for multiple power supplies help reduce system costs and size.
