ST’s SPC5 32-bit microcontrollers are designed using industry standard Power Architecture® processors couple with ST’s proprietary embedded Flash technology. They combine a scalable range of single-, dual- and multi-core solutions (Power Architecture e200z0 to e200z4) with innovative peripheral sets that are optimized for car applications, such as engine management, chassis, safety, body control, advanced driver assistance, and for all applications requiring long-term reliability.
Interior, Networking and Low Power Applications
With a focus on body and convenience applications, the low-power SPC5 microcontrollers are ideal for all designs requiring automotive quality, cost-effectiveness and power consumption optimization. These MCUs include sophisticated power management features (Halt, Stop and Standby modes) that reduce system power consumption. The latest products of the series combine Ethernet and ISO CAN FD communication interfaces with the latest Hardware Security Module (HSM) technology to ensure functional integrity of the car’s Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and protection against malicious attacks.
Safety Critical Applications and Motor Control
ST’s SPC5 MCU lines dedicated to Chassis and safety applications have a special focus on functional safety and on three-phase motor control solutions, from entry-level to high-end, for which ST has a dedicated line of SPC5 devices. These microcontrollers are compliant with the automotive safety integrity levels (ASIL-B and ASIL-D) that are now required in critical systems such as anti-lock braking, electric power steering, active suspension and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
High Performance Applications
The portfolio includes SPB5 devices targeting high performance applications, focused on the specific needs of real time applications such as propulsion control and automotive transmission control applications. They feature an excellent real-time behavior, by integrating an enhanced high-performance time processing unit (eTPU) with DSP capability or the latest Generic Time Module (GTM).
ProMik – Flash Programming Tools
ProMik’s programming tools are ideally suited for production flashing the SPC5 family of microcontrollers. The SPC58 has an extensive model range, single and mulit-core devices, which ProMik is fully supporting. In terms of flash programming, the JTAG debug interface can be used for initial programming of the software. Along with flash programming process, ProMik has deep knowledge in configuring and measuring via CAN-FD interface for security and testing purposes. ProMik realized several project in the past where complex programming strategies were developed, involving MCUs of the SPC58 family.
ADAS & Radar Devices
ST’s product portfolio dedicated to Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) applications includes a range of components that make driving safer. Fully Autonomous vehicles will require advanced, automotive grade ADAS functionality, from a wide range of sensors, to have built in redundancy and be able to work in a wide range of environmental conditions. ST is a leader in this market with complete automotive solutions and integrated circuits. ProMik has a deep knowledge of programming automotive applications. Our semi-automated flash programming station SAP2100-AUTO performs highest industry standards while being the most cost-effective flash programming tool in series production.
All devices of the STM8A product line provide the following benefits: reduced system cost, performance and robustness, short development cycles, and product longevity. The system cost is reduced thanks to an integrated true data EEPROM for up to 300 k write/erase cycles and a high system integration level with internal clock oscillators, watchdog, and brown-out reset. Short development cycles are guaranteed due to application scalability across a common family product architecture with compatible pinout, memory map and modular peripherals. The MSP2100NET uses the single wire (SWIM) interface to program the memory. Due to ProMik’s sophisticated flash programming algorithms, the STMAx family can be pe programmed at the MCUs physical limits.
ST’s STM32F205/215 microcontrollers are designed for medical, industrial and consumer applications where the high level of integration and performance, embedded memories and peripherals inside packages as small as 4 x 4 mm are required.
